By installing our Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels your home can generate clean, green renewable energy from daylight - a free and natural resource.
Solar Share, with our official partners Solar Share offer you innovative solar PV panels and expert installa-tion. Enabling you to live more sustainably.
Solar PV (photovoltaic) panels, most commonly installed on rooftops, turn sunlight into electricity with-out producing carbon emissions. This can be used to power your home, heat your water or be stored in a battery for later use. Through the Microgeneration Support Scheme you can also receive 21c/kWh credit for any excess electricity you export.
There are SEAI grants up to €2,400 available to you right now. The recent Government decision to abol-ish VAT on the supply and installation of solar panels has now lowered costs too.
The Government recently cut the rate of VAT on the supply and installation of solar panels from 13.50% to 0%. We welcome this decision and will pass on the full discount to all our customers as well as retaining all our highly competitive prices for supply and installation. Another step on Ireland’s journey to cleaner, cheaper, renewable energy.
The above is based on estimated installation costs, self-consumption and annual solar generation from south facing roof in Dublin City. Savings base on average electricity rate of 41c/kWh and microgeneration rate of 21c/kWh that is exported. All prices calculated at 0% since 1st May 2023.
*An average solar PV system can save over 50% per year on electricity, based on an average consump-tion of a house being 4200kWh/units. 8 x Solar PV panels or 3.2kWp will generate approx. 2700 units per year 2100kWh/units).
Add a Solar Battery System to increase savings from Solar PV and to store generated energy for later use. Batteries can be programmed to charge at a cheaper night rate if you are on a Home Electric+ Smart Meter time-of-use plan.
Solar Sjhare supplies batteries made by Sonnen GmbH of Germany. Known for their reliability, each bat-tery is a fully integrated energy storage solution enabling users to change the way they manage and control their energy.
The battery storage system is installed together with your Solar PV purchase or can be added to an exist-ing Solar PV system. Nice to have but not mandatory, our team can advise you on your options.
To speak to a technician to learn more about our Solar PV & Battery products complete the form below.
Our trained technicians will do an online consultation or a home visit to determine the best options to suit you. An installation date will also be arranged if you wish to proceed.
There are 2 payment options: 1) You can pay the full amount upfront or 2) 50% is payable after survey and final balance is payable following installation.
We will install the panels to highest standards and you will be then brought through a tutorial so you are comfortable with all aspects of Solar PV.
Smart MetersSolar PV, also called Photovoltaic, uses the sun's energy to convert daylight into renewable energy. The electricity is then consumed within the home, reducing your need to buy energy from a supplier. When a Solar PV system produces more energy than a home needs, the extra energy can go to your immersion heater. Solar PV is not to be confused with Solar Thermal - while Solar Thermal heats water only, Solar PV gives you free electricity and hot water. An average size Solar PV install would include 10 panels and a hot water diverter with average price of €7,975 (before grant) but is dependant on site survey for accurate quotation. The price after grant of €2,400 for this 10 panel (4.1kWp) system would be €5,575. All installs with deposits paid since 1st May 2023, will benefit from 0% VAT and Solar Share are committed to maintaining pricing following this an-nouncement. Once installed, you can save an estimated €1,190 each year (based on 2,280kWh of solar electricity being self consumed and 1,220kWh being exported to grid). At current electricity price of 41c/kWh and microgen rate of 21c/kWh, your investment payback is an estimated 5 years.
All homeowners, including private landlords, whose homes were built and occupied before 2021 can ap-ply. This is defined as the date your electricity meter was installed. The grant value is calculated on the total maximum output of the Solar PV system, measured in kWp. The grant value is €900 per kWp up to 2 kWp and €300 for every additional kWp up to 4kWp. The total maximum grant value is capped at €2400. A post works BER assessment must be carried out before the grant can be processed. solar panelsThe installation of solar panels on domestic properties is exempt from planning permission. Since the 7th of October 2022, there is no longer a limit to the area of solar panels which can be installed on rooftops of homes, anywhere in the country.
When we install the Solar battery in your home, it is usually placed as close to the main electrical distri-bution board as possible. The location will be agreed beforehand with the homeowner. Installation typi-cally takes one day to complete.
A good quality broadband connection is necessary to monitor how much power your home is using. Once installed the homeowner can review both the live and cumulative energy usage in the home on the free energy app from their smartphone.
The best orientation for solar panels in Ireland is south-facing to maximize sunlight exposure throughout the day.
Yes, under the Microgeneration Support Scheme, you can sell excess electricity back to the grid and receive compensation.
The cost varies depending on the system size and type, but the average cost ranges from €4,000 to €10,000 before grants and incentives.
